The idea
The idea to establish a
Consolidated Company specialized
in distributing Newspapers,
Magazines and Books sprang from
the regular meetings held by the
General Managers of press
establishments and
Editors-in-Chiefs of Saudi
Newspapers and magazines. The
idea came to save effort, time
and money spent fruitlessly
without realizing the potential
developed in distribution of
Newspapers and magazines. Thus
it was necessary to establish a
Company based on objective and
sound foundations, entrusted
with wide-range distribution of
Newspapers and magazines and
publications in all Saudi cities
and villages in such a way that
secures a better circulation and
availability. After a detailed
feasibility study the company
was established in November
1985.

The Location
Al Watania Head Office is
located in Riyadh, with four
regional centers in Riyadh,
Jeddah, Dammam and Abha. The
company has 38 branches in the
Kingdom access to the main
system (Oracle Programming
Lang.) and connected by IPVPN,
one of the strongest computer
network.

Membership
Al Watania Distribution is
member of Arab Distributors
Union in Cairo and the
International Distribution Union
(DISTRIPRESS) in Switzerland. Al
Watania issues a specialized
periodical on press, publishing
and distribution.
